Engineer I - Structural

Overview

As part of a the QP Manufacturing Engineering organization you will put your engineering and problem solving skills to the test, seeing your solutions put into action in real time with a mix of assignments ranging from just a few days to several weeks to complete. This will be in support of COLUMBIA and VPM first time construction. This is truly the best opportunity to apply engineering skills in support of a state-of-the-art nuclear submarine construction facility.

This position is ideal for the highly motivated individual who enjoys getting their hands dirty; working directly with production tradespeople and management, developing designs from inception to use on a variety of interesting applications. Job assignments will include design development and production support of :

• Lifting and handling fixture designs and process support
• Lifting & handling arrangements - learning state-of-the-art crane capabilities and heavy load transporter operations
• Lifting and handling drawings and build strategies
• Lifting and handling Risk mitigation plans
• Initiating and implementing Process Improvements as well as supporting in implementing ideas
