About The Position

Must-Have : Strong preference for experience in hospitals with more than 100 deliveries per month.

2 years of experience is required in Labor and Delivery specialty.

Description :

The unit has 16 beds for Labor and Delivery, including 6 antepartum rooms and 5 triage rooms.

There are 2 operating rooms available.

Ratios for patient care are 1 : 2-3.

This is a very busy unit with a supervisor available 24 / 7 as a resource.

The facility is a level 4 maternity center accepting admissions from a wide service area.

Typical cases include routine labors, inductions, low-intervention deliveries, and preterm premature rupture of membranes.

Other cases may involve cerclage placement and removal, fetal demises, insulin drips, heparin drips, and complications like placenta accreta or previa.

Also, care is provided for patients experiencing decreased fetal movement, fetal growth restriction, pre-eclampsia, substance use disorder, and unstable antepartum conditions.

Travelers may float to various areas within the unit for team support as needed.

Floating is required and expected among all nursing staff.

The role may also include floating to maternal-infant care and patient observation duties as necessary.
