Registered Nurse, Wound, Ostomy, and Continence (WOC) - Methodist Hospital

Methodist Hospital is looking to hire a Registered Nurse to join our Wound, Ostomy, and Continence (WOC) team! Come join us as a Partner for Good and help us make an impact on the care and experience that our patients and their families receive every day.\n\nPosition Summary : The registered Nurse manages outcomes for wound, ostomy, and continence patients across the continuum of care by providing, coordinating, and supporting clinical aspects of direct patient care. Acts as a specialty consultant to physicians, nurses, physical therapists, and patients for provision of WOC care for all areas of Park Nicollet Health Services. Collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to assess patient needs for WOC related nursing care and education. Coaches and assists team members to ensure optimum and efficient use of resources. Integrates knowledge of WOC related principles of current WOC practice standards.\n\nProvides quality and timely information to supervisor regarding quality of patient care and clinical practice. Provides clinical information to a wide variety of customer groups within the organization. Utilizes the concepts and tools of continuous improvement to ensure excellence in patient care endeavors. Maintains a current working knowledge of philosophies, policies, standards, procedures, and health and safety programs for PNHS. Serves as a role model for effective interpersonal, interprofessional and interdepartmental relationships. Participates in educational activities which further his / her professional growth and development. Works with a wide variety of people at all levels within and on behalf of the organization.\n\nWork Schedule : .8 FTE - Day shift, Monday-Friday\n

• Required Qualifications : Education, Experience or Equivalent Combination : \n
• Academic preparation includes a Bachelor of Science- Nursing or associate degree in nursing with a bachelor's degree in another field of study.\n
• Experience in basic nursing practice required - minimum of 2 years.\n
• Experience in leadership, research utilization, staff / patient education and interdisciplinary collaboration.\n
• Licensure / Registration / Certification : \n
• Certification in Wound and Ostomy by the Wound Ostomy Continence Nursing Certification Board (WOCNCB) within 18 months of hire\n
• Valid Minnesota Nursing License.\n
• Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities : \n
• Evidence of skills in written / verbal communications, conflict resolution, and interpersonal relationships.\n
• Demonstrates knowledge of age-related growth and development principles necessary to provide appropriate service and assure safety of patients.\n
• This position requires familiarity and compliance with matters of law, regulations, and internal policies affecting the employment relationship, (including but not limited to FMLA, ADA, discrimination, and harassment laws).\n
• Proven proficiency in the operation of the following : telephone, photocopier, FAX machine, personal computer utilizing word processing, spreadsheet, VCR, slide projector, overhead projector and common patient care equipment related to key clinical areas.\n\nPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS : \n
• Education, Experience or Equivalent Combination : \n
• Master's degree preferred.\n
• 5 years' experience in basic nursing practice\n
• Licensure / Registration / Certification : \n
