Overview
UXO Tech II role at AECOM in Kuwait City. Qualified candidates must be available to start onboarding on November 3, 2025. Deployment to Kuwait will follow, with pre-hire support activities (drug screen, background check, etc.) to be completed by mid-October 2025.
Responsibilities
- Performs reconnaissance and classification of UXO in accordance with Department of Defense Explosives Safety Board Technical Paper 18 (DDESB TP-18).
- Identifies U.S. and foreign-guided missiles, bombs and bomb fuzes, projectiles and projectile fuzes, grenades and grenades fuzes, rockets and rocket fuzes, land mines and associated components, pyrotechnics, military explosives, and demolition materials.
- Locates subsurface UXO using military and / or civilian magnetometers.
- Performs excavation procedures on buried UXO by manual and / or mechanical means.
- Conducts operator maintenance of magnetometers (military and / or civilian).
- Locates surface UXO using visual means and operates a motor vehicle transporting UXO.
- Prepares on-site safe holding areas for UXO and handles storage of UXO and demolition materials.
- Prepares a UXO disposal site and non-electric / electric firing systems for UXO disposal operations, including detonating cord firing systems.
- Disposes of UXO and explosives by burning or detonation and operates a personnel decontamination station.
- Properly dons and doffs PPE in contaminated areas.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma plus 2 years of experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and / or education.Current driver's license; may require use of an AECOM-provided or personal vehicle for business.Valid US Passport that does not expire before 11 / 2026.Pass pre-employment drug screen.Pass post-offer, pre-employment fitness for duty exam per 29 CFR 1910.120 with a medically qualified result.40-hour HAZWOPER; 8-hour refresher (as applicable); annual 8-hour refresher training.Relocation assistance not available; travel and per diem provided.US citizenship required for this project.Additional Qualifications
Graduate of military EOD assistant course, accredited UXO technician training course, or military EOD school (US, Canada, UK, Germany, or Australia).On-the-job training in MEC-related activities and familiarity with geophysical equipment.Military EOD graduates : 1.5 years of MEC / EOD experience; Accredited UXO School graduates : 3 years MEC-related experience.Preferred Qualifications
Explosive Ordnance Disposal certificate.Additional Information
