About The Position

Job Title : Registered Nurse

Experience : Minimum 3 years of Critical Care experience preferred, strong candidates with less than 3 years will be considered. Travel experience preferred.

License : Virginia or Compact License required at the time of submission.

Certifications : BLS, ACLS, NIHSS required via American Heart Association.

Must-Have :

Strong neuro experience required (post-neurosurgical, EVD, and stroke).

Proficiency in EPIC required.

Willingness to float to Stepdown Unit, ED, or MedSurg to care for ICU patients being held.

Description :

Chesapeake is located in the beautiful area known as Coastal Virginia.

It is an outdoor lover’s paradise offering trails for all levels of hikers and over 20 waterways to explore!

The role requires strong neuro experience and will not consider any candidates with prior license or background hits.

Candidates must meet all requirements prior to consideration.

Patient populations include neurosurgical and post-stroke, respiratory failure, renal failure, post-surgical, trauma, sepsis and MODS, and heart failure.

The nurse will be responsible for managing vents, IV drip titration, telemetry monitoring, conscious sedation, and emergency management.

Ratios will be 1 : 2-3.

Candidates should possess skills in arterial line management, chest tube insertion / removal, GI surgery, high flow nasal cannula, and more.

They should also be able to interpret dysrhythmias, manage patients with multisystem organ dysfunction / failure, and care for ventilated patients.

Candidates should be comfortable discussing and providing care for a diverse range of patient diagnoses.

The facility may provide interdisciplinary support and requires staff to uphold high standards of patient care.

The job may involve floating between units and participation in a collaborative healthcare environment.
