Telemetry RN Job Details – Kalamazoo, MI

Estimated Weekly Salary : $1770–$1820

Location : Kalamazoo, MI 49048 (Michigan healthcare jobs)

Unit : Cardiac Short Stay / Telemetry Unit (Cardiology Oth Svcs Anc - 4642)

Position Type : Locum tenens, travel nursing contract

Assignment Length : 13 weeks (Start : 9 / 15 / 2025 – End : 12 / 15 / 2025)

Shift : Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts per week (18 : 00 – 06 : 00)

Guaranteed Hours : 36 hours per week

Weekend / Holiday : Every other weekend; must work 2 out of 3 holidays

Floating : As needed within hospital or affiliate hospitals

Patient Population : Adults and geriatrics

Unit Size : 46 beds, average daily census of 42

Scrub Color : Caribbean Blue

Charting System : Cerner Powerchart

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (pending MI RN license accepted; must apply within 24 hours of offer)

Minimum 1 year of recent Telemetry or Cardiac nursing experience

Required certifications : ACLS, BLS, NIHSS (pending certifications accepted)

Experience with Cerner charting system required

Must reside at least 50 miles from facility (no local candidates)

COVID-19 and Flu vaccinations required (medical / religious exemptions considered)

Ability to complete up to 8 hours of pre-start modules within 1 week of signing

Telemetry RN Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality nursing care to cardiac telemetry patients in a fast-paced hospital environment

Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms and dysrhythmias

Administer cardiac drips (no titration), vasoactive drips (no titration), and thrombolytic agents

Perform central line, PICC line, and peripheral line care and management

Manage chest tubes, surgical drains, feeding tubes, and tracheostomies

Support patients through substance withdrawal and post-surgical recovery

Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including physical therapy, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, and social services

Float to similar nursing units as needed based on census and patient volume

Participate in rapid response teams and emergency interventions

Maintain accurate and timely documentation using Cerner Powerchart
