About the Role

As the Senior Underwriting Executive, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the underwriting strategy across various business lines. Your main responsibilities will include establishing risk appetites, guidelines, and authority matrices, all designed to strategically balance growth and profitability. You will lead underwriting operations, with decision-making authority on complex, high-value cases, while managing portfolio performance and monitoring loss ratios closely. In this dynamic role, you'll need to be proactive in adjusting tactics based on market trends.

Your collaboration will be essential as you work with actuarial, claims, product, distribution, and risk functions to ensure cohesive alignment on pricing, product development, capital deployment, and underwriting controls. You will also spearhead continuous improvement initiatives by introducing cutting-edge analytics, automation, and decision-support systems.

Leading, mentoring, and building a high-performance underwriting team will be key, along with ensuring regulatory compliance and governance are upheld consistently.

Qualifications :

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in actuarial science, finance, insurance, risk management, or a related field.
• Relevant professional credentials (e.g., CPCU, FCAS, ACII) strongly preferred.
• Proven track record in underwriting leadership roles within the insurance or reinsurance sectors, with experience in multiple product lines and complex risk portfolios.
• Deep technical expertise in underwriting principles, risk modeling, pricing, reinsurance frameworks, and regulatory environments.
• Strategic thinker with strong analytical skills, able to influence at the executive level, complemented by excellent communication and leadership abilities.
• Experience in implementing underwriting systems and data analytics tools, driving transformation in underwriting operations is a significant advantage.
