Job Summary and Qualifications
The Sr Director of Complex Surgical Programs is responsible for Sarah Cannon clinical program development by ensuring consistency in program development across the cancer continuum, including centers of excellence. The Sr Director supports an interdisciplinary team approach to the overall delivery of care of patients and their families. The Sr Director is responsible for developing and operating programs that drive physician engagement in the markets. The Sr Director develops and implements strategic plans.
Responsibilities
Develops and implements strategic plans for tumor site specific clinical programs and the delivery of physician led patient centric care. Provides oversight of central infrastructure to support National Leadership Committee, National Tumor Boards and Market Tumor Site Workgroups. Supports and participates in strategic planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of clinical programs and services, assuring appropriate resources for the delivery of care. Assists senior leadership of Sarah Cannon and Sarah Cannon partners of clinical program development by providing data driven feedback based on metrics reporting. Supports VP of Clinical Programs who provides the Sarah Cannon vision and priorities, and is accountable for outcomes for patient care quality and safety in collaboration with the Sarah Cannon team. Informs VP of Clinical Programs of how current programs support volume and market share growth. Supports Sarah Cannon clinical programs and patient care delivery model(s), to ensure consistency with current research and professional standards and with the mission, vision, and values of the Sarah Cannon / HCA organization. In conjunction with Sarah Cannon leadership and market RVP's, assists with the design and implementation of clinical programs which promotes and fosters a multidisciplinary approach to patient care and a focus on quality and excellence. Supports the strategic direction and is responsible for the implementation of solid tumor clinical program pathway development. Supports clinical program strategy development that reduces the risk of patient outmigration. Collaborates with IT to develop mechanisms to measure pathway development and adherence. Leads the development of strategies to ensure toolkits are always current and relative to the healthcare environment. Leads the clinical cancer program managers in striving for excellence while promoting colleague career growth and development. Occasional / intermittent travel is required.
Competencies
Must have extensive clinical oncology, program development, hospital operations, and physician relationship experience. Must be familiar with and committed to professional organization standards. Must have ability to foster effective working relationships within a team environment. Must have exceptional oral and written communication skills. Must be an innovative self-starter with a commitment to excellence. Must possess tenacity, self-motivation and initiative necessary to drive the development and maintenance of Sarah Cannon cancer programs. Demonstrates behaviors of a team player. Requirements
Bachelor's Degree Required. Master's Degree Preferred. 5+ years of relevant experience. Sarah Cannon is the Cancer Institute of HCA Healthcare.
