Successful candidates are natural self-starters who have prior Hardware engineering experience in the integrated automation project life cycle, including custom product development, design, implementation, enhancement, and support.

As an Interdisciplinary System Development Engineer for Amazon Fulfillment, Successful candidate will be able to work with some of the most talented engineers in the design, scientists in simulation and optimization in the development and delivery of physical distribution systems around the globe. The candidate will lead initiatives and complex cross-functional projects or programs that focus on the building of new, the alteration of existing, and the closing of end-of-life material handling and technology systems inclusive of Hardware, Controls and Software. The candidate will also lead the design and development of hardware, including sensors and edge compute devices for next generation Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) platform being developed to improve equipment, process and operator workflows. Have an established background in delivering high-performance physical systems, strong technical problem-solving abilities, project management skills, and an internal motivation to achieve results in a fast-paced and often ambiguous environment. As a working leader, will be required to take the lead on the implementation and delivery of large system concept designs and advanced technology in ambiguous and complex problem spaces. Integrate systems for safety, security, stability, and efficiency. A successful candidate participates in the full system development life cycle, working within broadly defined parameters, including test plan execution and solution quality needs.

You must be responsive, flexible, and able to succeed within an open collaborative environment. Amazon’s culture encourages innovation and expects engineers to take a high-level of ownership in solving complex problems.
