Description :

The Radiologic Technologist performs radiology procedures on ambulatory and hospital patients as requested by a physician or other licensed provider for the diagnosis of disease and injury in accordance with established protocols.

Performs high-quality radiology procedures according to exam protocols in a timely manner.

Maintains production and quality of imaging procedures by following established standards and procedures.

Demonstrates an understanding of radiation dose reference levels, monitoring, and appropriate actions if levels are exceeded.

Utilizes effective communication methods to identify patient service requirements and establish rapport with patients and others.

Instructs and communicates with patients and their families regarding the test to be performed and assesses the patient's ability to tolerate the exam.

Prepares patients and areas for procedures by positioning patients, adjusting immobilization devices, and moving equipment into specified positions.

Protects patients and employees by adhering to safety requirements, infection-control, and radiation policies.

Maintains equipment and work areas to meet quality and cleanliness standards.

Reports issues to management or appropriate departments and assists in maintaining the supplies inventory.

Ensures individuals are safe to enter the department by screening them according to approved policies and procedures.

Obtains, verifies, and maintains all relevant documentation such as requisitions, patient history, and consent forms.

Maintains medical imaging records in appropriate systems in a timely manner.

Demonstrates the ability to perform high-quality radiology procedures independently and without routine oversight.

Maintains a calm and helpful attitude, even under stress, and takes appropriate steps to resolve issues.

Administers first aid and uses emergency equipment when necessary.

Ensures customer satisfaction by providing courteous service and completing tasks in a timely and accurate manner.

Demonstrates and maintains current knowledge and skills appropriate for providing care across various age groups.

Serves as a preceptor by training new team members and introducing new services and initiatives.

Available to take on-call duties if required.
