DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As a Transportation Technician, you will undertake various technical responsibilities related to the inspection of materials and workmanship in highway construction projects. Your duties will include conducting inspections and material testing to ensure compliance with contract specifications and certification standards. You will monitor different phases of highway construction, such as verifying grades, elevations, and the layout of roadways and simple structures. Additionally, you will maintain ongoing documentation of project activities such as any field plan changes, progress and quality control reports, and detailed calculations to determine consistency of materials being utilized. Assistance will also be provided with inspecting work zone traffic control signs and devises to ensure accurate placement in accordance with outlined specifications and standards.
