Location : New York, Hybrid (4 days / week in office)

A rapidly growing global technology company at the intersection of ecommerce and data infrastructure is seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to lead efforts across compute or storage systems. This team powers critical systems behind billions of transactions annually and partners with major global brands to deliver intelligent, real-time customer experiences at scale.

The engineering org is focused on building scalable platforms that support both real-time and batch processing workloads. You'll work alongside talented engineers to architect, evolve, and operate the technical backbone behind an expansive ecosystem of data driven, customer-facing solutions.

This role is ideal for a seasoned engineer looking to take ownership of foundational platform components—whether that’s container orchestration, service networking, or distributed storage systems. You’ll have the opportunity to function as both an individual contributor and technical leader, helping shape the future of infrastructure at scale.

Your Role and Responsibilities

• Take end-to-end ownership of compute or storage infrastructure, with a hands-on approach to systems design, implementation, and reliability.
• Architect solutions around container platforms and orchestration tools (e.g., Kubernetes, Helm, Argo), or storage and data platforms (e.g., Kafka, Cassandra, Trino).
• Build and maintain critical components across networking (VPCs, service meshes), stream processing (multi-region Kafka), and data analytics platforms (data lakes, OLAP engines).
• Drive internal tooling and automation initiatives to improve development velocity and operational efficiency.
• Ensure platform reliability and security for high-volume, high-availability environments.
• Mentor peers and contribute to technical strategy across platform initiatives; may also take on leadership of project teams or direct reports depending on experience.
