Job Description
Segula Technologies is seeking an Industrial Engineer to support new product introductions at a major OEM facility. This role focuses on methods development, line balancing and continuous improvement—ensuring production lines meet performance, safety, and quality targets throughout launch and ramp-up in collaboration with Manufacturing and Engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct time and motion studies, develop standardized work, and balance operator workloads to align with takt time using Pre-determined Time Standards like MTM, MOST or MODAPTS
- Present the line balance to the core launch team which will include product, engineering and operational team members.
- Lead throughput and bottleneck analysis to identify improvement opportunities and eliminate constraints.
- Collaborate with Station Design, Manufacturing Engineering, and Quality teams to implement design and process improvements.
- Provide data for ergonomic evaluations using digital tools such as Process Simulate Human or ErgoMan to ensure operator safety.
- Validate PFMEA and process documentation for compliance and launch approval.
- Lead or participate in continuous improvement (Kaizen) workshops and lean manufacturing initiatives.
- Track and report launch metrics including cycle time adherence, first-time quality, downtime, and throughput performance.
- Support pilot builds, tool tryouts, and process validation during pre-production phases.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in industrial, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Engineering (or related discipline) or relevant work experience3–5 years of experience in an automotive manufacturing or assembly environment.Proficiency in using AutoCAD and Microsoft Excel for line layouts and analysis.Experience with lean manufacturing, line balancing, and standardized work principles.Strong working knowledge of PFMEA, lean methodologies, and ergonomic design.Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.Preferred Skills
Experience supporting vehicle launch, retooling, or model change programs.Familiarity with Tecnomatix Process Simulate, Power BI, or other digital manufacturing tools.Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing certification (Green Belt or higher).Experience with SAP, MES, or similar production tracking systems.Working knowledge of throughput simulation and material flow optimization.Additional Information
