Environmental Services Supervisor - FVH

DEFINITION / PRIMARY FUNCTIONS

This supervisor’s primary responsibility is to provide daily supervision to Environmental Services Staff. Evaluates, educates, and disciplines employees to ensure departmental operations are of the highest quality and lowest possible cost, expected to fill 75% to 80% of the time commitment. In addition performs general cleaning in and around hospital departments and / or extensive cleaning duties in various areas of the entity. Performs minor repairs, moves, transport of soiled equipment, and works in compliance with all safety and other regulations while delivering services to assigned units the other 20% or 25% of the time commitment.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS (Minimum qualifications are required unless stated otherwise.)

Experience :

Two Years of housekeeping experience in an institutional housekeeping department with one year of supervisor experience preferred.

Proven ability to perform duties and tasks in accordance with established standards.

Proven interpersonal skills.

Education and Training :

High School Diploma or equivalent; Associate Degree preferred.

License, Certification & Registration :

DRIVER - Driver's License preferred.

Other Requirements :

Ability to speak, read and write the English language in an understandable manner.

Ability to follow oral and written instructions.

Adaptability to occasional variations in shift commitment.

Ability to perform repetitive duties.

Willingness to complete assignments with a high level of quality and consideration of patients, staff and visitors.

Ability to receive criticism professionally.

Ability to use communication devices such as telephones, pagers, two-way radio.

Ability to use housekeeping equipment and fax machine.
