Insight Global is looking for a qualified Safety Inspector is responsible for ensuring that all construction activities on federal projects comply with applicable safety regulations, standards, and protocols. This role involves conducting site inspections, identifying potential hazards, enforcing safety policies, and promoting a culture of safety on the job site. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in construction safety, particularly in vertical construction, and a thorough understanding of federal safety regulations. Supporting the Architect of the Capitol, this position offers the unique opportunity to work on some the most historic and iconic buildings in the nation.
Day-to-Day :
- Provide safety inspections, document reviews and detailed reporting on safety compliance for construction sites.
- Engage contractors and staff in programs that ensure safe practice on the construction site.
- Conduct regular and comprehensive safety inspections of vertical construction sites.
- Identify potential hazards and unsafe practices, and ensure corrective actions are implemented promptly.
- Monitor compliance with safety standards, regulations, and project-specific safety plans.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of safety regulations and best practices.
- Prepare and enforce site-specific safety plans and procedures.
- Conduct safety training sessions and toolbox talks for site personnel.
- Educate workers and contractors on safe work practices, hazard recognition, and emergency procedures.
- Promote a culture of safety awareness and accountability on the job site.
- Documentation and Reporting
- Maintain comprehensive safety documentation, including inspection reports, incident logs, and safety meeting minutes.
- Prepare and submit regular safety reports to project leadership and relevant federal agencies.
- Ensure all safety documentation is complete, accurate, and compliant with federal requirements.
- Perform risk assessments for ongoing and planned construction activities.
- Monitor the effectiveness of risk control measures and adjust as necessary.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, contractors, and federal agencies to ensure safety requirements are integrated into all phases of the project.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for safety-related issues and concerns on the construction site.
- Communicate effectively with all stakeholders regarding safety performance and improvements.
