We are seeking a visionary Clinical Director to provide strategic leadership and operational oversight across all clinical programs. This senior role requires a dynamic leader with clinical expertise, operational insight, and strong regulatory knowledge, capable of driving performance, quality, and programmatic excellence.
The Clinical Director will guide Civitas' strategic growth, ensure efficient, high-quality service delivery while fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and professional development. By inspiring clinical teams, this role will advance innovation, strengthen organizational impact, and align all initiatives with Civitas' mission and vision.
Salary Range : $86,250 - $115,000 annually commensurate with experience

Essential job duties include :
Utilizing and applying knowledge of evidence-based practices and training clinical staff in successful behavioral health service delivery and client goal achievement.Providing clinical leadership and supervision to undergraduate and graduate degree-level clinical staff for our community-based and substance-use services ensuring the delivery of high-quality Service.Ensuring appropriate supervision and professional development of licensed staff to support a client-focused service model.Supervise and mentor clinical staff, ensuring performance excellence, professional growth, and compliance with training requirements. Including periodic performance evaluation.Reviewing clinical documentation for compliance with federal, state, Medicaid, MCO, and other third-party documentation requirements.Performing all aspects of our Compliance Program, Quality Assessment, Risk Assessment and Performance Improvement plansUtilizes experiential business acumen and working knowledge of developing, implementing, monitoring, and analyzing program budgets to make decisions based on financial performance.Reviewing and ensuring all clinical aspects and requirements of the revenue cycle are fulfilled.Establishing and maintaining positive working relationships with vendors and colleagues.Stay current on federal, state, and local regulations governing mental health services in forensic settings.Proactively identify and mitigate risks associated with clinical operations, safety, and regulatory compliance.Promote open communication and strong collaboration among team members and key stakeholders.Serve as a bridge between the clinical team and leadership, delivering regular updates on program performance.Qualifications :
Master's degree in human services field, healthcare management, or general business / public administration from an accredited college or university, required.Must be a Licensed Mental Health Professional (LPC, LSATP, LCSW, LMFT) with the Virginia Department of Health ProfessionsA minimum of 3-5 years of experience in prior management positions with comparable responsibility as determined by the corporation.Financial management experience preferred.Must have knowledge and understanding of ASAM (American Society of Addiction Medicine) criteria. ASAM Certified will be added advantageExperience and knowledge of EMDR Therapy will be a plusExcellent working knowledge and experience of DMAS, DBHDS
