In this role, you’ll ensure accurate inventory control, timely material procurement, and efficient coordination between suppliers, planners, and production teams to support operational goals.
Responsibilities :
Maintain accurate operating system data, including product master fields, lot sizes, safety stocks, lead times, and item notes.
Coordinate demand requirements via order entry to support manufacturing planning and execution.
Plan and execute raw material procurement efficiently, monitoring component orders and MRP replenishment.
Analyze and monitor raw material inventory to optimize economic ordering and minimize overage or scrap.
Validate purchase delivery dates, track carriers, and manage Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCMS) as needed.
Maintain purchasing information records, forecasting databases, and documentation of manufacturing practices.
Adhere to production / inventory control policies and facility quality management systems.
Generate process orders, purchase orders, debit memos, requisitions, and other correspondence.
Create ZAMU sample shipping orders.
Serve as backup to Sr. Buyer / Planner for MRO purchasing.
Participate in 5S and lean manufacturing initiatives, value stream mapping, and problem-solving sessions.
Utilize business software to perform inventory transfers, inquiries, and reporting; provide critical data to HS&E and Quality departments.
Qualifications :
Associates Degree in Operations Management or related field, or equivalent work experience required.
Bachelor’s Degree preferred; APICS certification (CPIM) desirable.
2–3 years of MRP / DRP planning experience in manufacturing or distribution preferred.
Proficient in computer systems, including spreadsheets, Notes, PowerPoint, and graphics.
Strong analytical and organizational skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively across departments.
Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles, 5S, and value stream mapping a plus.
