Here's What We Need :

The Staff Accountant is responsible for ensuring that accounts are reconciled, vendors are paid on time, and financial processing runs smoothly. This role involves detailed analytical work, managing high-volume financial tasks, working closely with internal and external teams, and assisting with audits and special projects.

What you'll be doing :

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Account Reconciliation & Journal Entries

Reconcile various balance sheet accounts periodically.

  • Review and calculate monthly recurring general journal entries with the Assistant Controller.
  • Prepare and record monthly accruals.
  • Calculate and record gift card liability and breakage.
  • Tax & Payment Management

    • Manage property tax payments and the associated workbook.

  • Oversee sales tax email inboxes and reconcile monthly payments.
  • Research and resolve tax discrepancies.
  • Assist in management of tax exempt certificates.
  • Audit & Compliance

    • Assist in audits as needed.

  • Flexibility

    • Serve as a backup for AR and Expense Management functions when required.

  • This role may work on special projects or perform other job duties as assigned.

  • Communication & Collaboration : Strong interpersonal skills for maintaining relationships with internal teams (e.g., construction, purchasing, marketing, legal) and external vendors.
  • Attention to Detail & Organization : Keen attention to detail for reconciling accounts and managing large volumes of financial data accurately.
  • Adaptability : Flexibility to manage changing priorities and tasks efficiently.
  • Initiative & Accountability : Self-starter with a proactive approach to solving problems and taking ownership of duties.

    Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in related field OR equivalent work experience.
  • 3 + years of accounting experience

    • Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in accounting software (Netsuite).

    • Physical Requirements

  • Ability to meet the physical requirements of daily tasks
  • Must be able to type for long periods of time
  • Lift 15lbs
  • Ability to stand or sit for long periods of time

    • Travel

  • Travel is not required for this role

    • Work Location
