Job Summary : Under the supervision of the Department Manager, creates and / or updates maps and design drawings using computer aided design (CAD) technology. Communicates with clients and the public. Conducts research of record drawings. Interpret maps, blueprints, survey documents and sketches. Proofing or comparing of information contained on maps / drawings with information from different sources.

Duties : Communicate with engineers, contractors, developers, surveyors, planners, real estate representatives, local officials, utilities, public, and others to answer questions regarding deliverables. Use appropriate computational methods, existing source documentation and Autodesk software tools to develop, populate and manage CAD data on behalf of the department. May convert maps / design drawings and related information into different formats. Performs quality assurance and quality control (QA / QC) CAD data. Compare information on digital maps to hardcopy information and checks for accuracy. Produces high-quality maps and reports from CAD, and other related data
