JOB TITLE : Permitting Subject Matter Expert, Energy and Infrastructure Projects

What is your impact?
Are you ready to shape the future of energy infrastructure by leading the permitting strategy behind some of the most transformative EPC projects in the U.S.? As a Permitting SME , you will play a critical role in enabling the successful delivery of complex infrastructure projects-from substations and renewable energy installations to data centers and rail electrification. Your leadership in navigating regulatory landscapes will directly support Linxon's mission to build infrastructure for a more sustainable and electrified future. You'll help streamline permitting processes, mitigate risks, and ensure projects move forward with confidence and compliance.
What will you do?
Tender / Pre-Award Stage
Evaluate project scope and location to determine required permits and identify relevant AHJs (local, state, federal agencies, utilities, zoning boards, etc.).
Create and maintain project-specific permitting matrices detailing permit types, responsible agencies, timelines, and associated risks.
Advise proposal teams on permitting risks, costs, and schedules. Provide input to bid documents and clarify EPC responsibilities related to permitting.
Initiate early contact with AHJs to understand permitting requirements, timelines, and potential challenges.
Execution / Post-Award Stage
Lead the preparation, submission, and monitoring of all permit applications under EPC scope to ensure timely approvals for construction and commissioning.
Act as the primary liaison with AHJs, managing inspections, responding to inquiries, and addressing revisions or additional requirements.
Ensure adherence to all permit conditions during construction, including environmental, safety, and operational requirements (e.g., stormwater, air quality, floodplain, SPCC, SWPPP).
Maintain accurate records of permits, correspondence, and compliance documentation. Ensure all permits are current and updated as needed.
Proactively identify and resolve permitting risks or delays. Escalate critical issues to project leadership when necessary.
Provide permitting guidance and training to internal teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders to ensure alignment and compliance.
Develop and refine permitting processes, templates, and best practices for scalable, nationwide application.
