POSITION SUMMARY
The Maintenance Supervisor / Planner is responsible for supervising, scheduling, planning, and implementing all maintenance activities in the facility in order to maximize equipment effectiveness and availability while following established safety, environmental, and regulatory practices and procedures.

Reports directly to Maintenance Manager. Works closely with machine operators, production supervisors, production scheduler, material handlers, designers, and customer service.

Fulfillment of all job responsibilities successfully by being able to perform each essential duty satisfactory. Meeting all customer and GNC specifications for quality, accuracy and efficiency. Compliance with all plant safety rules, general rules and procedures. Effectiveness of communication and development of good working relationships with other employees. Accurate and timely reports. Soundness of decisions made regarding personnel, machinery and equipment, work methods and safety. Integrity of confidential employment and business information. Ability to analyze and solve problems. Honesty, fairness, flexibility, and tact. Possession of the trust and respect of employees, co-workers and management. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
Individual must possess : high school diploma or equivalency; formal maintenance training (apprenticeship or technical degree) five years' experience in manufacturing maintenance (corrugated industry preferred); 3 to 5 years experience as a supervisor or leadership position; excellent safety record; ability to perform mathematical calculations involving adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing fractions, decimals and percentages; ability to follow written, verbal or diagrammatic instructions; excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills; legible handwriting to record information and fill out forms; ability to delegate responsibility when appropriate; ability to : plan, prioritize and organize work effectively; work effectively under pressure and time deadlines; analyze problems (not just symptoms), propose reasonable solutions, make logical decisions, carry out decisions made and follow up with feedback where appropriate.
Maintenance Supervisor must possess the ability to supervise skilled workers with a wide variety of experience in plant operations. They need to possess excellent troubleshooting skills, technical knowledge of production equipment both, mechanical and electrical, computer-controlled operations, and have the ability to motivate maintenance personal. Maintenance Supervisor must be able to plan and coordinate several projects simultaneously, work closely with Production, or Contractors, and generate ideas that can lead to reduction of cost and improvement of work processes. It is also necessary to have excellent communication, problem solving, organizational, and moderate to advanced computer skills.
