Position Summary :
The Right of Way Specialist is responsible for supporting land acquisition and property management efforts on infrastructure and development projects. This position involves coordinating permitting and construction activities, negotiating land use agreements, interpreting real estate documents, and ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and project standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in real estate law, project coordination, and stakeholder communication.
Key Responsibilities :
- Analyze, interpret, and prepare various land-related agreements, including deeds, easements, leases, licenses, and permits.
- Conduct research and collect documentation related to property titles, ownership, and boundaries.
- Translate Right of Way (ROW) data into the stakeholder management system and ensure data accuracy through regular quality checks.
- Prepare and submit permit applications and project reports, including technical summaries and acquisition status updates.
- Support project planning, budgeting, and scheduling by identifying key deliverables and critical milestones.
- Assist in managing subcontractors, including reviewing contracts, invoices, and change orders.
- Present technical information and project updates to team members, clients, and stakeholders, including participation in public involvement meetings.
- Maintain project records, documentation, and meeting agendas.
- Coordinate ROW construction activities and restoration efforts as needed.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and internal company standards.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications :
Education & Experience :
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Real Estate, or a related field, and at least 4 years of relevant experience in ROW acquisition, relocation, eminent domain, project management, or real estate.Required Skills :
Proficient in interpreting land surveys, title and appraisal reports.Strong knowledge of real estate and property law.Experience with ROW processes, stakeholder engagement, and database management.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.Strong organizational and time management skills with attention to detail.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).Licenses & Certifications :
Valid driver's license required.Ability to meet company driving requirements.SR / WA (Senior Right of Way Agent) designation or other IRWA certifications preferred.Real Estate Broker or Sales License required.Work Environment & Additional Information :
