Your life as a PRN Night RN
You'll serve patients primarily at night across Wichita, Archer, Clay, Jack, Montague, and Young counties. In this PRN role you will :
Cover night call for HOWF and Palliative Care; make visits (PRN, crisis care, hospital, and death visits) and document promptly at the point of care so your notes clearly "paint the picture" for the next clinician.
Complete admissions (evaluation, assessment, and timely paperwork), assess hospitalized referrals, and initiate the individualized Comprehensive Plan of Care with the IDT and physician(s).
Triage incoming patient calls and determine visit needs; coordinate and direct LVNs and CNAs to exceed patient expectations.
Teach disease processes, expected changes, and end-of-life care; advocate for the patient and family; and support at time of death and in early bereavement.
Update EMR (events, orders, MAR, guidelines), follow up on new meds / orders, and maintain HIPAA compliance and HOWF standards of conduct.
What you'll bring
Education : Graduate of an approved school of professional nursing; BSN preferred. Current Texas RN license.
Experience : Two (2) years acute care within the last four (4) years preferred; specialized skills in palliative and end-of-life care.
Skills : Self-directed, strong clinical judgment, effective oral / written communication, ability to lead and educate team members, and comfort educating families on disease process and expected changes.
Readiness for nights & travel : Able to work nights, respond to urgent needs, and travel home-to-home on a flexible schedule.
