Standard Work Schedule :

The Sr Estimator is responsible for analyzing and preparing project cost estimates, including materials, labor, equipment, and other resources. This role supports pre-construction activities and ensures accurate and timely estimates to secure profitable projects. The Sr Estimator will collaborate with project managers, engineers, vendors, and clients to deliver comprehensive proposals that align with project requirements and company standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review project specifications, drawings, and related documents to determine scope of work.
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for low voltage systems, including fire alarm, security, access control, A / V, structured cabling, and other specialty systems.
  • Solicit and analyze vendor and subcontractor quotes to ensure competitive pricing.
  • Identify potential risks, value engineering options, and alternative solutions to improve project profitability.
  • Work closely with pre-construction, project management, and business development teams to support bid strategies.
  • Prepare proposals, bid documents, and other client-facing deliverables.
  • Maintain an up-to-date cost database and stay informed on industry trends, material costs, and labor rates.
  • Mentor and support junior estimators in developing their skills and accuracy.
  • Qualifications

  • Proven experience (5+ years) as an estimator in low voltage systems or related construction fields.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical / low voltage codes, standards, and best practices.
  • Proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred (equivalent experience considered).
