Summary
Lead a shift team of up to 20 employees across multiple shop‐floor departments, directing daily workflow so every order ships on time, every time. You’ll balance people, machines, and materials—driving a forklift, filling in on equipment, and handling paperwork as needed—while upholding safety, quality, and housekeeping standards. The role is hands‐on : expect to lift up to 50 lbs and work overtime when production peaks.
Key Responsibilities
- Champion a safe, uncluttered workplace : keep the plant clean, organized, and inspection‐ready.
- Run the shift : assign work, adjust labor to meet changing priorities, and step in on machines when necessary.
- Maintain flow : move parts between departments, label shipments accurately, and issue materials first‐in / first‐out.
- Hit the schedule : track work‐in‐process and monitor work orders in the ERP system to ensure on‐time delivery.
- Communicate in real time : relay material or manpower needs to Purchasing and Scheduling as priorities shift.
- Drive quality : perform final or secondary inspections, stage first‐article reports, and escalate issues to the Production Manager.
- Foster a customer‐first culture : coach the team to see every task through the lens of customer impact.
Qualifications
Experience :
2+ years in a supervisory or lead role (manufacturing / fabrication environment preferred)Proven inventory‐management skillsHands‐on fabrication or mechanical backgroundTechnical skills :
