POSITION SUMMARY :
As a Speech Language Pathologist, you will evaluate patients' conditions and provide effective treatments to enhance or restore their speech and language functions. Your role will be crucial in interdisciplinary team meetings and community education initiatives, and you may be expected to provide coverage across multiple sites.
EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATION :
Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited program.Current state licensure in Speech Language Pathology.Certificate of Clinical Competency from the American Speech Language and Hearing Association.KEY COMPETENCIES :
Exceptional communication skills—in both spoken and written English.Proficient with basic computer applications, including Word, Outlook, and Excel.Reliable transportation is necessary for travel to various work sites.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
Evaluate patients according to departmental standards.Tailor evaluations to each patient's unique symptoms and medical situations to establish personalized and measurable treatment goals.Administer appropriate therapeutic techniques to enhance patient recovery.Utilize physical modalities and manual therapy methods effectively.Employ strategies for normalizing speech and language activities.Guide patients and their families in home exercise and functional activity programs to promote independence.Assess progress and determine the right time for patient discharge.Maintain documentation according to insurance guidelines and departmental policies.Facilitate communication among departments and with referring physicians regarding patient assessments and progress.Ensure accurate billing and daily submission of charges.Comply with the professional ethics established by ASHA and our facility.Practice safe techniques to minimize injury risks.Mentor at least one student each year from affiliated programs.Engage in continuing education to enhance your skills.Lead or participate in a departmental or community training session.
