The ideal Plant Manager will have plant management and engineering experience and is responsible for overseeing / maintaining the overall functions for a single manufacturing facility. The Plant Manager is responsible for all aspects of capital and maintenance budgets for the facility including but not limited to the following : numerous automated systems, vision inspections, robotics, high speed production machines; equipment improvements, equipment reliability; supporting and driving productivity improvements, managing and staffing of the Maintenance department; and energy management, cost controls, procurement, JIT and MtO’s processes.
The ideal candidate will have an extensive knowledge of running a $100+ Million dollars per year plant with over 100 employees, experience with food manufacturing would be a plus but not required, Engineering degree would be a plus. This is a full-time Direct Hire position.
Responsibilities :
- Manage day-to-day manufacturing plant activities, production, quality, safety
- Ensure that all equipment is safe and functional for production operation
- Identify and develop solutions to enhance safety, ensure quality or improve production
- Ensure compliance with technical specifications and contracts for equipment
- Correct and eliminate unplanned failures
- Manage raw material and production schedules
- Train and work with production teams and leaders to ensure proper plant operation
- Maintain vendor relationships, order materials, obtain estimates and subcontract work as needed
- Complete safety requirements as assigned and hold direct reports accountable for completing safety assignments
- Prepare, organize, document, and archive project documentation
- Manage and control plant energy program
- May be required to perform other related duties as assigned
Requirements / Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree in engineering with a minimum of 10+ years manufacturing / plant engineering experience and 10+ years of work experience in a leadership roleWorking knowledge / understanding of Plant Maintenance Module JiTExtensive knowledge in managing production and reducing wasteEstablishing protocols and proceduresExperience in food production is a plusISO certification experience is preferredWork environment is production floor and officeExperience managing others in a manufacturing environment a mustBenefits
