Corporate Credit Manager

HumCap’s client in the industrial distribution industry in Dallas is searching for a Corporate Credit Manager. With a 75+ year legacy of service in Texas, this company has experienced exciting growth. In the past 5 years they have increased revenue 3X and employ close to 400 people. The company has a vision to grow to $1 billion.

Position Overview :

The Corporate Credit Manager will oversee a hands-on portfolio of accounts receivable totaling $10–15 million per month. This role involves direct customer engagement to resolve past due balances, reduce aging AR, and improve Days Sales Outstanding (DSO). The position reports to the Controller and includes direct reports.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Manage team of credit managers
  • Negotiate payment arrangements using knowledge of Joint Checks, Bond Claims, and Guaranties
  • Prepare monthly lien notices and review lien waivers / releases
  • Evaluate customers for credit line increases and submit recommendations
  • Drive reduction in DSO and AR aging over 60 days
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to enhance customer service and operational efficiency

Performance Objectives :

  • Year 1 : Reduce AR aging over 60 days to 5% or less
  • Year 2 : Lower DSO to 30 days or less
  • Year 3 : Build a high-performing team, including hiring a strong right-hand person
  • Qualifications :

  • Minimum of 5 years in commercial credit and collections (construction industry experience preferred)
  • Strong understanding of Texas Bond & Lien laws
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Experience with deductions, chargebacks, and account reconciliation
  • Solid foundation in accounting, credit, collections, and billing systems
  • Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and deliver measurable results
  • College degree in economics, finance, business, or related field required
