The candidate must have 18 months of Med-Surg experience. An active Georgia or compact license is required. NIHSS certification is a must. BLS certification is also required. Skills needed include IV insertion and PICC line placement. Familiarity with Epic software is essential. Candidate should have the ability to interpret telemetry. Special procedures performed on the unit include lumbar punctures, thoracentesis, NGT feeding, and NFT insertion.
