Job Title : Substation Controls Designer 2

Position Overview :

The Substation Controls Designer 2 position requires 5-7 years of related experience and an accredited bachelor's degree in engineering technology or an associate degree . This role is critical to Southern Company's Transmission and Distribution Substations design.

Key Responsibilities :

• Prepare engineering drawings , specifications , and material requirements for substation projects with a focus on safety , quality , scheduling , and cost management .
• Ensure safety is a top priority , using a safety-first mentality in all tasks.
• Deliver high-quality design packages with exceptional productivity.
• Provide technical expertise and guidance for less experienced design personnel.
• Support Substation Field Services , Project Management , and other project stakeholders.
• Coordinate and communicate effectively with associated departments.
• Uphold Southern Company's design criteria and standardization efforts .
• Contribute to storm restoration efforts as needed.
