FAMILY SUPPORT COACH
Lac Seul First Nation is seeking a Family Support Coach under the direction of the Director of Obishikokaang Sagatay-Gamik . The Family Support Coach will work directly with families to identify strengths, challenges, and opportunities to promote wholistic well-being. This role focuses on building strong, trusting relationships and delivering tailored plans and workshops that support each family's growth, structure, and wellness journey. The position also supports community engagement and youth-based programming.
Responsibilities
- Develop strong, professional relationships with families.
- Support families in identifying strengths and developing personalized wellness plans.
- Offer workshops and sessions in areas such as parenting, budgeting, personal development, and routines.
- Guide child development and implement strategies to support routines and self-care.
- Document all visits and services, maintaining confidential and accurate records.
- Coordinate with Family Advocates, the Director, and external services.
- Plan in-home sessions and support family-led goal setting.
- Assist in creating promotional materials and organizing community events.
- Participate in partnerships with other departments to promote youth engagement.
- Ensure all information is documented and filed per department policy.
- Report concerns promptly to the supervisor.
- Other duties as required.
Qualifications
Degree, diploma, or certificate in Human Services is an asset.Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.Strong time management, organizational, and independent work abilities.Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).Understanding of local family values is an asset.Facilitating workshops and creating supporting material.Experience working with various family support programs and resources.Comfortable speaking publicly and writing reports.Ability to speak the local language is an asset.High standards of ethics and confidentiality.Must have a valid driver's license and own vehicle for work-related travel.Must be willing to provide a clean Driver's Abstract upon request.Criminal Reference Check and Vulnerable Sector Check are required.Location : Lac Seul First Nation, ON
Rate : Wages start at $27.94 / hour
based on qualifications and experience.
Term : Full-Time
Hours : 35 hours per week
