INVESTIGATOR
Salary : $40,000 per year
General Duties :
- Under the general direction from the elected District Attorney or Assistant District Attorneys, will handle sensitive criminal (and occasionally non-criminal investigations) which come under the jurisdiction of the Cameron County District Attorney.
- Assist victims of Felony and Misdemeanor crimes by keeping them informed on case status and court proceedings.
- Assist trial team (prosecutors) in trial preparation and provide court accompaniment.
- Assist trial team (prosecutors) in locating and transporting witnesses for trial preparations in Felony and Misdemeanor cases as assigned.
- Assist trial team (prosecutors) in securing information pertaining to cases as needed (i.e. - records, lab reports, etc.).
- Work on assignments outside of normal 8am-5pm office hours, including weekends, as requested by the District Attorney and trial teams.
- Represent the D.A.'s Office at community events to build and maintain positive relationships with the public.
- Complete all other duties assigned by the District Attorney.

High school diploma required.BA in criminal justice preferred.Other Qualifications, Certificates, Licenses, Registrations :
Must hold an active TCOLE Advanced Peace Officer Certification.Must have a valid Texas Motor Vehicle Operator's License and an acceptable record.Must be able to pass a criminal background check.This is not a Civil Service covered position.
