Overview
In this role, you will be responsible for field engineering specialization and expertise in work planning and packaging, material management, quantity verification and validation, safety and quality control, technical inspection and testing knowledge, and subcontract coordination for the Sulfuric Acid Plant (SAP). You will ensure that field engineering activities operate safely, are complete, and conform to quality standards and project requirements.
Major Responsibilities
- Performs the duties of a lead engineer in the SAP area, coordinating and directing a variety of disciplines related to the operation of the SAP area.
- Proactively engages with their teams' development through CPM, competency development / assessment and feedback.
- Leads construction engineers in a broad range of construction engineering work within a specific engineering discipline.
- Coordinates with design on constructability issues.
- Reviews material receiving reports and warehousing to assure delivery of correct materials.
- Possesses responsibility for quantity take-off, control, reporting and forecasting.
- Ensures zero accident philosophy and requirements are implemented and adhered to by craft and others when in the operational area, and tools and equipment are in safe condition and operated safely.
- Coordinates between Construction and Startup to ensure the various system walkdowns are performed, interfacing with the Startup Specialist as required to support component / system turnover and assuming responsibility for area turnover coordination as determined by the PFE.
- Reviews and approves inspection test plans.
- Coordinates reviews of subcontractor submittals.
Education and Experience Requirements
Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 10-13 years of relevant experience or 14-17 years of relevant work experience.Required Knowledge and Skills
Knowledge of multiple technical engineering disciplines relating to the construction of heavy industrial projects.Thorough knowledge of construction activities as they relate to engineering disciplines, cost and scheduling, and contract administration.Knowledge and understanding of the application and requirements of the Project Environmental, Safety & Health (ES&H) Handbook and the Company Core Processes as they relate to area of responsibility.Knowledge of project-specific environmental compliance requirements.Knowledge of the Company "Zero Accidents" safety program.Computer literate in word processing, spreadsheet and database applications in accordance with current Company Standard Application Program (BSAP) standards.Knowledge of current industry design standards.Fluent in written and spoken English.Senioritiy level
