Your role as a CNC Horizontal Machinist

As a Full-Time CNC Horizontal Machinist at WALCO Tool & Engineering, you will be responsible for setting up and operating CNC Horizontal Milling Centers, where you'll harness your expertise to perform a variety of complex machining tasks, including milling, boring, drilling, and tapping under precise computer control. You'll load parts and cycle the machine while detecting any malfunctions to ensure uninterrupted operations. Your role will involve running production lots, inspecting your work for quality assurance, and effectively communicating with coworkers to foster a collaborative and efficient work environment. This position is perfect for experienced machinists who excel in navigating diverse challenges and are committed to delivering exceptional results.

First shift hours : 6 : 00 a.m. to 2 : 30 p.m.

Second shift hours : 3 : 00 p.m. to 11 : 30 p.m. (includes 10% shift differential) - Second shift offers the option of five 8-hour shifts or four 10-hour shifts, depending on availability.

Knowledge and skills required for the position are :

• 7 years experience of set up and operation of horizontal, vertical and manual equipment
• Must be able to do multiple setups daily
• Must be fluent in G and M codes
• Advanced blueprint reading skills
• Must be able to physically lift / push / pull objects up to 40 lbs.
