RN Float - Med / Surg / Tele / Rehab (days)

Job Description

The Registered Nurse Float is responsible for providing professional nursing for patients following established standards and practices. Assists physicians and staff with the daily coordination of patient care and patient access. Coordinates patient flow, schedules appointments, procedures, tests and referrals. May serve as preceptor for clinical staff. Relies on experience and judgment to accomplish responsibilities. Works under minimal supervision. Creativity is expected to perform job. May lead and direct the work of others within scope of practice.

Patient psychosocial / physiologic assessments that integrates changing data are performed at all times.

Communication / collaboration with the health care team members, patients and families is consistently provided to maximize patient outcomes at all times.

As a clinical resource to health care team members, serves as a mentor and preceptor, displays leadership behaviors, provides direction and guidance to others regarding practice as needed.

Other duties as assigned are completed.

Qualifications

Graduate of accredited school of nursing

Per license requirements

Proficient in the English language, verbal and written communication skills, computer skills

Current Louisiana State license as RN; BLS
