American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med / Surg Tele Float Pool position with a NH or compact license and strong telemetry skills.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Position is part of the Float Pool, primarily staffing a 6-bed observation unit within a hospitalFloats to Med-Surg and Telemetry units as neededPatient ratio is 1 : 5 with adult and geriatric patient population including cardiac, respiratory, post-STEMI cath, and stroke casesDay shift, 12-hour shifts from 7 : 00 a.m. to 7 : 30 p.m., with every other weekend requiredUses Epic for documentation and Pyxis for medication managementTelemetry responsibilities include interpreting rhythms, blocks, paced rhythms, arrhythmias, and life-threatening dysrhythmiasMust pass a telemetry exam using calipers upon arrivalCollaboration supported by rapid response teams, pharmacy, interpretation services, and allied health professionalsUnit handles post-dialysis care; CAPD performed by specialized RNsResponsible for providing care to observation, Med-Surg, and telemetry patients and interpreting telemetry stripsFirst time travelers are welcome to applyMust be comfortable floating between Med-Surg and Telemetry units based on patient census and staffing needsUnit uses the SBAR communication methodAll travelers within 50 miles of the facility are eligible at the local rateOnly AHA and Red Cross certifications are acceptedDrug screen required within 14 days prior to start dateStandard hospital nursing dress code applies\n \n Requirements\n
Active NH or compact RN license requiredMinimum 2 years of Med-Surg Telemetry experience requiredBCLS (AHA or Red Cross) and ACLS certifications requiredMust have Epic charting experienceAbility to interpret complex cardiac rhythms and use telemetry equipmentTelemetry skills test required on arrivalReferences required for consideration; traveler may be able to start with the second reference pendingCandidates with critical care or progressive care experience preferredCharge experience preferredApplicants who have been former employees at any Solution Health facility are not eligible\n Benefits\n
