Asteroid Health is a thriving start-up offering mental health services in the Newton, MA area.
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Outpatient Mental Health Therapist to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in behavioral health and be skilled in various therapeutic modalities. This role involves but is not limited to, providing high-quality mental health services, including psychotherapy, crisis intervention, and grief counseling to individuals and families.

Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments to determine clients' mental health needs.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on clinical best practices.
- Provide psychotherapy and counseling services to individuals, families, and groups.
- Utilize crisis intervention techniques to support clients in acute distress.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation. Ensuring documentation is timely.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate care for clients.
- Provide support and resources for additional community services as appropriate and necessary.
- Stay informed about developments in the field of behavioral health to ensure the application of evidence-based practices.
- Work with client's from intake to discharge
- Maintain a reasonable caseload.
Skills
Proficient in medical records management.Strong understanding of behavioral health principles and practices.Experience working in the field of mental health. Preferably partial-care / psychiatric day treatment.Crisis intervention skills with the ability to remain calm under pressure.Knowledge of various psychotherapy techniques tailored to diverse populations.Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective workplace and client interaction.Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment.Commitment to ongoing professional development and the companies mission.Qualifications
Master's Degree in a Behavioral Health Related field.
License in social work, counseling, marriage and family therapy, or substance use, (i.e. LICSW, LMHC, LMFT, and / or similar licensure)2 years experience at minimum required in the fieldDSM experience and knowledgeDemonstrated computer and communication proficiencyTeam playerBenefits
