About the Role
Aqua-Tots Swim School Littleton is looking for an Aquatics-Focused Assistant General Manager to partner with the General Manager in leading daily operations, driving lesson quality, and developing our aquatics team.
This role is heavily centered on aquatics leadership , including training, curriculum execution, staff development, deck supervision, and maintaining high safety and performance standards.
The ideal candidate is passionate about coaching instructors, improving lesson consistency, and creating a positive, growth-focused culture on the pool deck.
Key Responsibilities
Aquatics Leadership (Primary Focus)
Oversee aquatics operations to ensure all lessons meet Aqua-Tots Curriculum Standards.
Lead Aquatic Manager, Master Instructors, and Deck Supervisors in maintaining high-quality teaching.
Conduct regular lesson observations to assess safety, consistency, and curriculum adherence.
Support and oversee In-Water Evaluations (scheduled, completed, and conversions).
Coach instructors on teaching skills, swimmer progression, and parent communication.
Lead follow-up on student progression and all curriculum- or instructor-related drops.
Ensure the pool environment is safe, clean, organized, and aligned with brand standards.
Support training and development plans to grow instructors into Deck Supervisors, Master Instructors, and future leaders.
Customer Service & Family Experience
Model Aqua-Tots Core Values in all interactions with families.
Provide high-quality parent communication, feedback, and issue resolution.
Educate families on the Learn-to-Swim Program and guide them to the correct class level.
Maintain visible presence in the lobby to engage with families and support the customer experience.
Oversee responses to customer feedback across email, social media, and in-person conversations.
Staff Leadership & Development
Partner with GM to lead, coach, and develop the aquatic and front desk teams.
Support hiring, onboarding, training, and performance evaluations for all staff.
Ensure consistent team communication through Staff Meetings, In-Services, Master Instructor meetings, and Deck Supervisor meetings.
Maintain succession planning and training pathways for aquatics roles.
Support AM and OM in managing performance concerns and underperformance.
Reinforce a strong team culture, professionalism, and positive work environment.
Facility & Safety Oversight
Ensure the pool deck, pump room, and facility meet Aqua-Tots safety and cleanliness standards.
Monitor chemical logs, pool operations, and safety protocols with the Aquatic Manager.
Review incident reports and take corrective action when needed.
Maintain a safe, welcoming environment for team members and families.
Operations, Sales & Marketing Support
Assist with curriculum-based sales conversations and program recommendations.
Support tracking and converting In-Water Evaluations into enrollments.
Help manage class schedules and staffing to meet demand and maintain lesson quality.
Contribute to grassroots and local marketing initiatives as needed.
Assist with budget awareness, labor management, and basic accounting procedures.
Schedule & Weekly Expectations
Full-time, salaried role (40+ hours / week)
Schedule varies based on school needs
Minimum weekly expectations :
1 teaching shift / week
1 Front Desk shift / week
Regular deck presence for coaching, observing, and supporting aquatics
4+ hours / week in management meetings, assessments, and aquatics evaluation
Frequent lobby presence to connect with parents
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or GED (Bachelor's preferred)
18+ years old
Valid driver's license
Open availability, including weekends
2+ years of management or leadership experience preferred
Background in aquatics, coaching, swim instruction, or recreation strongly preferred (not required)
Preferred Skills & Competencies
Strong aquatics knowledge or willingness to become an expert
Experience training or developing others
Ability to assess performance and give constructive feedback

Compensation & Benefits
$40,000–$45,000 per year
