Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A special education teaching opportunity is available near Tecumseh, MI, for the 2025-2026 school year. This contract position focuses on supporting middle school students with mild to moderate special education needs, specifically those with Autism or cognitive impairments.

Key Details :

  • Location : Close to Tecumseh, MI
  • Duration : August 18, 2025 June 12, 2026 (dates are tentative)
  • Schedule : Monday through Friday, 7 : 45 am 2 : 45 pm, with arrival 10 minutes prior and departure 10 minutes after scheduled times
  • Caseload : 11 students in grades 4-8
  • Setting : In-person classroom environment

Responsibilities :

  • Deliver individualized instruction to students with diverse learning needs related to Autism and cognitive impairments
  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) aligned with state and district standards
  • Collaborate effectively with staff, families, and support personnel to foster student growth and success
  • Maintain detailed records of student progress and municate regularly with parents or guardians
  • Adapt strategies to maximize engagement and emotional well-being of students

    • Qualifications :

  • Valid Michigan Special Education Certification with a Cognitive Impairment (CI) or Autism endorsement
  • Experience working with students diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder or cognitive impairments
  • Strong emotional intelligence and excellent interpersonal munication skills
  • Ability to function as part of a collaborative educational team
