Job Description

ProSidian seeks a FERMILAB Electrical Engineer (FRA6) [Key Personnel | Senior Consultant - Exempt 874-1 Consultant] located CONUS - Batavia, IL, 60510 (Remote) to provide Energy, Resources, & Industrials Sector related Program / Project Management Solutions for Proton Improvement Plan II Project (PIP-II) Construction Administration (CA) Support Services for The Fermi Research Alliance, LLC (FRA). These services are part of the ProSidian Energy, Infrastructure, & Environment Sector Group with a focus on tailored solutions to meet global needs and manage resources across Energy, Infrastructure, & Environment in a changing environment. NAICS Code : 541330 - Engineering Services for the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Office of Science (SC) with service(s) also characterized as Construction Administration (CA) Support Services.

Job Overview

General Program Support by the Electrical Engineer

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Designing electrical systems for buildings, machinery, and other equipment. This includes developing specifications, selecting components, and creating schematics.
  • Developing electrical products such as electric motors, power generators, and control systems.
  • Testing and troubleshooting electrical systems to ensure they are safe and functioning properly, using various testing equipment to diagnose and fix electrical problems.
  • Supervising the installation and maintenance of electrical systems and equipment. Overseeing the work of apprentices and other electrical engineers.
  • Conducting research and development to discover new technologies and improve existing electrical systems and products, including renewable energy sources, electrical storage systems, and smart grids.
  • Ensuring that all electrical systems and products comply with safety standards, including OSHA and NEC.
  • Collaborating with other professionals, such as mechanical engineers, software engineers, and project managers, to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the desired standard.
  • Serving as an integral team member in every aspect of the product's development, from conceptualization to production.

Qualifications

Required Education and Certifications

  • A bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related field. A master's degree in electrical engineering is preferred. Valid, current license in the state of Illinois.
  • Strong technical skills including circuit design, control systems, power systems, electronics, and proficiency in CAD software and other engineering tools.
  • Ability to identify and solve complex problems related to electrical systems, often under tight deadlines and budget constraints.
  • Strong communication skills to convey technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team with engineers, technicians, and stakeholders to achieve project goals.
  • High attention to detail to identify errors and inconsistencies in designs and specifications.
  • Other Qualifications

  • Skills Required : ability to multi-task, pay attention to detail, excellent analytical, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; U.S. Citizenship required; e-Verify compliance.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products and Adobe; ability to learn other tools as necessary.
  • Eligibility for a Facility Access Authorization as required by US government security offices.
