Associate Director, Investment, OOH
Location : Chicago – 4 days in office or Remote US.
Rise, a Quad agency is seeking an Associate Director, Investment, OOH to provide leadership and strategic direction for assigned clients via OOH investments. The role involves acting as a steward of the clients’ OOH investments, serving as a subject matter expert during client interactions and advancing the visibility of Rise to secure preferred inventory, advantaged pricing, and first‑mover opportunities. This pivotal position leads OOH strategies, manages client relationships, and drives the success of high‑profile campaigns.
Responsibilities
Support Integrated Media Planning teams through strategic development of media plans, flawless activation & execution, and accurate billing and financial management of client media investment.
Direct and execute investment strategies for clients to secure the best possible rates based on goals, objectives, budget and savings targets.
Utilize data (rate, spend, plan history, internal benchmarks, database, channel & sales results) to negotiate campaigns and achieve desired outcomes across vendors.
Manage a team of direct reports (remote and across Rise locations) including onboarding, training, performance management and retention.
Mentor and lead OOH planners in creating a cohesive, forward‑leaning activation unit while maintaining strong internal and external client relationships.
Translate strategy and data into clear, actionable recommendations for diverse audiences using strong verbal and visual storytelling skills.
Qualifications
Education :
Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, advertising, business or combination of an Associate’s degree and related work experience. Proficiency in written, read and spoken English.
Experience :
8+ years of proven success in media strategy across all OOH formats; 5+ years in a management or supervisory role; experience building integrated strategies that drive awareness and emotional connection; deep knowledge of OOH planning tools, geospatial data, industry trends; ability to juggle multiple projects; excellent communication and ability to inspire senior leaders; strong negotiation skills yielding rate savings and client retention; talent acquisition, performance management and organizational skills.

Proven ability to develop and manage OOH campaigns meeting or exceeding objectives; influential communicator; strong presentation and storytelling skills; client‑centric mindset; curiosity and continuous learning; leadership of high‑performing teams; passion for purpose‑driven culture; problem‑solving; clear vision communication; business judgment; calm under pressure; proficient with Microsoft Office and industry tools (Mediaocean, DoMedia, GeoPath, Nielsen, MRI, Claritas, Vivvix, Scarborough, etc.).
Travel :
Employees may be expected to travel, paid in an annualized salary range of $90,000–$100,000 based on experience and market.
Physical Demands :
Manual dexterity with skilled and accurate operations; light weight handling; ordinary office / shop / field / warehouse conditions; negligible hazards.
