Job Title : Assistant Processor

Pay : $19.41 / hour

Schedule : 4am-4pm (2 / 2 / 3)

Job Description

We are seeking a diligent and skilled Assistant Processor responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of food processing equipment. The role requires handling raw materials and performing quality checks to maintain the highest product standards.

Responsibilities

Physically load raw materials such as spices, sugars, and seasonings into machines.

Maintain accurate logs of materials fed into machines, both in paper and electronic formats.

Operate machines to ensure products are processed for the correct duration.

Perform quality checks on products as they exit the machines and are fed into containers.

Mix finished products and ensure adherence to established formulas.

Monitor production needs and adjust operations accordingly.

Set up equipment for daily production schedules and operate equipment to aid in processing formulas.

Utilize local control panels to manage the addition of metered and manually added / weighed ingredients and transfer batches.

Essential Skills

Experience in food manufacturing and processing.

Proficiency as a machine operator.

Knowledge of GMP and HACCP standards.

Ability to read and interpret safety rules and standard operating procedures.

Strong math skills for verifying quantities of ingredients.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED is preferred.

Relevant experience in food processing is advantageous.

Work Environment

The work environment is within a bustling food processing facility where teamwork is essential. The area can be wet at times due to sanitation activities, and hearing protection is required due to the constant operation of machinery. Despite this, the processing bay maintains a manageable level of noise.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Chambersburg, PA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.41 - $19.41 / hr.
