6th Grade Writing Tutor Job at Mama Bear's Learning Center in Chula Vista

Mama Bear's Learning Center (MBLC) is seeking a Writing Tutor for an in-person, contract role to support a 6th grade student in writing and spelling. The tutoring will take place in Chula Vista, California, once a week on Wednesdays from 4 : 00 to 5 : 00 pm. The pay rate is $40 per hour.

Overview

This is a contract in-person role for a Writing Tutor with MBLC. The tutor will provide personalized tutoring sessions based on the student’s tutoring assessments and report student progress to MBLC. If there is interest from other possible clients, the schedule may be flexible based on the tutor’s availability but must remain consistent from week to week.

Responsibilities include delivering targeted writing tutoring sessions, adapting instruction to student needs, and communicating progress to MBLC. Schedule is Wednesdays 4 : 00 – 5 : 00 pm. Pay is based on an hourly rate of $40 / hour. This role is in-person and contract-based.

Qualifications

• Thorough knowledge of English language arts and writing conventions (required)
• Teaching and / or tutoring skills (required)
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to clearly explain challenging concepts and provide feedback (required)
• Creativity and flexibility to adapt teaching methods and personalize to meet individual student needs
• Progress monitoring and reporting skills
• Experience working with students of diverse backgrounds
• Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and academic integrity at all times
