Firefighter volunteer / paid-on-call

Firefighter Position

The City of Monroe is currently accepting applications for the position of Paid-On-Call Firefighter. This is an excellent opportunity to serve your community in a meaningful way while gaining valuable training and experience.

Duties and Responsibilities

Responsibilities include :

• Responding to 35 emergency calls per week
• Attending required training (2 Tuesday nights / month)
• Maintenance Crew (2 Thursday nights / month)
• Participating in firefighting, rescue, and emergency medical operations
• Maintaining readiness of equipment, vehicles, and facilities
• Engaging in community fire prevention and public education efforts
