Job description

Position : Travel RN – Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR)

Facility : Heart Hospital of Austin

Location : 3801 North Lamar, Austin, TX 78756

Unit : Surgery – CVOR (Cost Center 701)

Contract Length : 13 weeks

Start Date : October 20, 2025

Shift : 6 : 30 AM – 5 : 00 PM | 4x10-hour shifts / week

On-Call Requirement

  • 1 weekday on-call per week
  • 1 weekend on-call every 6 weeks Reports To : Melissa Johnson Coordinator : Patrice Franklyn

  • Location : Main Hospital, 1st Floor
  • Patient Ratio : 1 : 1 (procedural setting)

  • Surgical instruments
  • Bovie cautery
  • EVH video tower
  • Laparoscopic video tower
  • Surgical tourniquet
  • IABP console
  • Impella console
  • Cryo system
  • Patient warming / cooling system
  • EMR : Meditech
  • Permanent Positions Available : Yes (CVOR CST and CVOR RN)

    • Requirements

  • Experience : Minimum 1 year CVOR RN experience required
  • Certifications : BLS, ACLS
  • Skills :
  • Experience with CVOR procedures
  • Ability to work in high-acuity surgical settings
  • Procedures Performed :
  • CABG
  • Aortic / Mitral Valve Repair / Replacement
  • AAA Endovascular & Open
  • AV Fistula creation / revision / thrombectomy
  • Hemodialysis catheter (HDC), CAPD, BBT
  • TAVR, TMVR, MitraClip
