American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN ICU - Intensive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Mission Viejo, California.

Job Description\n

American Traveler is seeking a CA-licensed ICU RN with at least one year of ICU experience and current ACLS, BLS, and NIH certifications for a float pool night shift assignment.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

  • Work in the ICU unit within an acute care hospital
  • Assignment is part of a float pool which may include floating to affiliated hospitals nearby
  • Night shifts are 3x12 hours from 19 : 00 to 07 : 30
  • Typical nurse-to-patient ratio is 1 : 2 in the ICU
  • Weekend work is required at least every other weekend and may exceed this to meet unit needs
  • No on-call requirements
  • Must be open to floating between similar ICU units and facilities as needed
  • Uses Epic EMR for documentation
  • Nurses are expected to float between all facilities within the state as needed
  • Must commit to working at least three of the following five holidays : Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day
  • Royal blue scrubs are required for RNs
  • Free parking is available
  • Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler

  • Active, in-hand CA RN license is required; no temporary or pending licenses accepted
  • Minimum 1 year of recent ICU nursing experience required
  • Current certifications in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) required
  • First-time travelers are accepted
  • Must reside outside of a 50-mile radius from the facility for travel consideration
  • RTO (requested time off) must be included with application
  • Two supervisory references covering one year within the last three years in a comparable specialty are required
