  • This is a remote role that includes national travel, up to 35%, must live near a major airport
  • We are seeking a Pharmaceutical Sales Trainer to train our field sales representatives, primarily supporting neurology, injectables, neurotoxins and movement disorders. We are only considering candidates with Pharma Sales or Pharma Sales training experience.

    The ideal candidate will live in the West 2 / 3 of the country

    The Field Training Manager is responsible for assisting in the development and implementation of training curriculum necessary to ensure commercial excellence within the Therapeutics business unit of Merz Therapeutics. This includes the development and maintenance of training materials, working with internal stakeholders, conducting training workshops and seminars and providing field coaching / training and support. Maximize sales force competency and performance via high-quality training and development programs.

    This role will support the development and implementation of training content and initiatives for the Therapeutics Business Unit. Interacts with Therapeutics Leadership Team (Sales Directors), Therapeutic Marketing Team, and Field Leadership). Assist in consulting with external vendors and partners to lead projects and offerings applicable to the Therapeutic Field teams to benefit their learning and development across their customer engagement effectiveness and professional development.

    Essential Duties :

    Sales Training Materials

    Assist in the development and maintenance of materials to train the sales force. [and other customer facing field teams.] Ensure approval from legal, compliance, and regulatory for all materials.

    Legacy Product Management

    As new products are acquired, manage legacy / current product training assets, and take primary role in new hire and continued education related to the legacy product.

    Selling Model Training

    Selling model and corresponding training platform for sales force to utilize common language across business unit and coaching platform that applies to all representatives.

    On-boarding New Hires

    Training and development of new hires to prepare them for their roles in the business unit. This includes clinical modules, CRM training, Marketing assets, and Administrative responsibilities.

    MYM and ASM Support

    Assist in the development of content and execution of workshops / training at MYM and ASM for sales force and other customer facing field teams through collaboration with field leaders and meeting planning team members. Evaluate post meeting surveys to incorporate feedback for future meetings.

    Field Trainer Management and Development

    Manage field trainers’ activities with new hires and regional development initiatives. Work with trainers to develop as peer coaches and leaders.

    Engage with Customers

    Engage with customers through field rides, conferences, or KOL interaction to ensure trainings are relevant to current market trends.

    Individual Training

    Available for field team reinforcement, assist in the development of specific programs and training materials pertinent to the individual salesperson, manager, or new trainee based off leadership request of additional needs.

    Education (required)

    • Minimum of
    • Professional experience

    • Minimum 3 years of professional sales and / or sales management
    • Minimum 2 years field training experience
    • Experience within Neuroscience / Rehab or Pharmaceuticals
    • Experience as a Pharmaceutical Sales Trainer
    • Knowledge, skills and abilities (incl. languages)

    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
    • Proven Problem Solving Skills
    • Knowledge of methods (required)

    • Assist to develop and implement field training programs and systems to enhance the skills of field representatives and field management. Assist to develop effective evaluation systems to measure training effectiveness. Assist to create objectives and measurable systems to ensure the achievement of company field education training. Implement field training programs including customer engagement techniques and presentations, product applications information and simulation / practice exercises.
    • Assist to provide materials and development support the sales organization and for presentations at conferences and / or sales meetings. Work closely with marketing, product management, field management, legal, regulatory, and other departments to develop and produce compliant field training materials. Continuously assess training and development needs of the Therapeutics field teams and assist to coordinate training resources, personnel, and contract services to ensure the long-term development of the field teams.
    • Work closely with field management to create, maintain, and facilitate developmental learning opportunities for field representatives as they move through their career continuum within the Therapeutics business unit.
    • Personal skills (required)

    • Project Management : Support, initiate, develop, and produce field training programs / materials that support the execution of marketing strategies. Assist to develop and coordinate consulting teams to generate field training programs utilizing new technologies to enhance learning while maximizing field representative time in the field. Assist field management with effective coaching processes and strategies. Assist to maintain astute Project Management skills and work with vendors effectively. Exhibit independent judgment, excellent interpersonal skills, ability to set and manage priorities, creatively solving problems, and demonstrating flexibility in a variety of team situations. Demonstrate an ability to integrate and collaborate at all levels of the organization with experience in change management.
    • Sales Meetings : Assist to develops, coordinates, and directs the training activities for key sales management and other field teams attending sales force meetings. Works with marketing, sales communications, field management, and other key areas of the company to assist to facilitate the planning, preparation, and execution of the training workshops.
    • Development : Works with Organizational Development (L&D Team) and field management teams to assist to create, maintain, and facilitate “career ladder” plans for field representatives. Advances personal development for added training and career value.
    • National Travel : Up to 35% of the time (including some weekends)
