Description :

In this position, the Radiologic Technologist performs radiographic procedures in order to obtain desired radiographic results according to physician specifications.

This includes, but is not limited to, transferring patients for examinations and utilizing ionizing radiation for radiologic diagnosis.

The Radiologic Technologist assists with the x-ray examination process.

Responsibilities include performing diagnostic x-ray procedures.

The technologist is responsible for the appropriate operation of all x-ray imaging and related equipment.

They educate, position, immobilize, and perform x-ray procedures correctly.

The technologist coordinates x-ray examinations to ensure timeliness, quality, and continuity of patient care.

They must understand and follow provider imaging orders correctly.

Required images and related clinical information must be submitted to the Radiologist for interpretation.

The technologist appropriately evaluates image quality.

Open, accurate, and responsive communication is essential with patients, coworkers, Radiologists, and leadership.

Utilizing, charging, and maintaining department supplies is part of the role.

The technologist practices sterile techniques and follows infection prevention policies.

They must be able to handle multiple tasks / projects and meet deadlines.

Safely performing x-ray procedures, including patient transfer, is required.

The technologist prepares and administers contrast according to Radiologist protocol.

It is vital to follow radiation safety measures to ensure patient and staff safety.

The Radiologic Technologist supervises and evaluates student radiographers in the clinical setting.
