System Designer

What we’re looking for :

We are seeking a system designer with at least eight years of experience in the security industry to join our dynamic and growing team.

What you’ll be doing :

This role involves designing fully integrated security solutions, including detailed parts lists, labor estimates, scope documentation, system overview drawings, and bid pricing from subcontractors. Site visits with sales and subcontractors will be required to generate documentation and support proposal presentations to end users.

This key position impacts sales, engineering, and operations, ensuring projects are sold, installed within budget, and meet customer expectations while maintaining high satisfaction. Some local travel may be required.

What you bring to the table :

• Minimum of 8 years experience in the security industry
• Network and IT knowledge
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and presentation skills
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Experience with AutoCAD, Visio, MS Project, and other Microsoft tools
• Site assessment skills to develop requirements and identify challenges
• Ability to develop project designs and material lists
• Assist in creating project scope of work
• Manage multiple project deadlines and deliverables
• Create design parameters, including wiring diagrams, site layouts, and network specifications
• Present designs to customers and decision-makers
• Collaborate with design and operations teams during project implementation
• Evaluate new industry products and current supported products
• Maintain current training and certifications
• Access Control Certifications (Genetec, Software House, ProWatch, Lenel OnGuard) preferred
• Video Management Certifications (OnSSI, Milestone, Genetec) preferred
• Experience in network design and implementation standards
