Status : Part- Time Non-Exempt

Qualifications : High school or equivalency diploma, proficient in Word and Excel. Strong organizational and communication skills. Ability to organize tasks based on importance. Strong customer service orientation including a pleasant telephone manner and can-do attitude. The maturity to deal with confidential information, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Previous customer service experience is a plus.

Physical Requirements : This position works in a typical office setting, but may be exposed to extreme temperatures in a warehouse setting. There may be extended periods of sitting, standing, and or bending, listening, talking, and or visual concentration, writing and or computer use. This position would normally have routine opportunities for the employee to be able to alter their physical position or change eye focus. Occasional lifting, moving and delivering boxes may be required; lifting should not normally exceed 30 pounds.

Position Summary

The Front Desk Receptionist is the friendly face and warm voice of the Regional Food Bank, embodying our mission through hospitality and professionalism. As a key member of the Workplace Team, this role is a central hub for all who enter our facilities-volunteers, Donors, partners, and staff alike. You will support the day-to-day operations by managing reception duties, assisting with office and event coordination, and contributing to a positive and welcoming work environment.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Reception Duties : Greet all visitors, answer and direct phone calls, distribute incoming messages, greet and direct visitors at the entry door, and respond to inquiries with excellent customer service.
  • Office & Break Room Support : Maintain and stock inventory in the office, break room , and kitchen. This includes curating daily offerings of basic food and beverages for staff and guests. Reset conference rooms and other spaces after meetings and events.
  • Event Coordination : Collaborate with administrative staff to assist in planning and executing staff events, team meetings, and other organizational activities.
  • New Hire Onboarding : Support the onboarding process by preparing welcome packets, coordinating with new hires on their first day, and helping them get settled in. This ensures a welcoming and smooth transition for all new team members.
  • Support Projects : Provide project assistance as needed, which may include data entry, filing, or scanning. Assist with projects from the Executive Team that support various departments and advance the food bank's mission.
  • Team Culture : Partner with the Workplace and Office of People and Culture (HR) teams to ensure all employees have access to the resources they need. Contribute to a fun, supportive, and inclusive work environment.
  • Safety : Collaborate with staff to maintain a safe workplace, assisting in the implementation of safety procedures under the direction of leadership and the Safety Committee.
  • Professional Conduct : Adhere to the Regional Food Bank's Employee Code of Conduct and maintain discretion and confidentiality in all interactions.
  • General Duties : Work independently and collaboratively with all departments in support of the Food Bank's mission. Perform other duties as assigned.
